Translate gross boundary area into a defensible preliminary usable area and indicative solar capacity range.
Why this workflow matters
Gross hectares should never be converted directly into megawatts. The calculation needs explicit deductions for setbacks, terrain, drainage, access, grid infrastructure and environmental constraints, followed by a technology-specific density range.

- Basis
- Start with 50 ha gross, deduct a 4 ha selected terrain mask, then apply a documented 15% allowance to the remaining land.
- Screening response
- The indicative usable-area assumption is 39.1 ha. At 0.65 MWp/ha it supports an illustrative 25.4 MWp before layout validation.
- Limitation
- Do not add overlapping deductions twice; calculate actual geometry and test contiguity before relying on the result.
